Account

    1. Download the Praktis app from your device’s app store (available on the App Store or Google Play). Can’t find us? Just search “Praktis App” in the app stores.

    2. Open the app and click on "Sign Up".

    3. Enter the required information and follow the prompts to complete registration and subscribe to either a monthly or annual subscription.

    4. Enjoy your free 7-day trial.

  • Subscribing is simple! Just download the app from your device’s app store, create an account, and choose your preferred subscription plan (monthly or annual) to get started. All our subscription plans have a 7-day, no obligation free trial as standard for you to see if Praktis is right for you.

  • To create your account, you will need to provide provide basic information including your name, email address, phone number and a password. You also need to provide your professional status and the most applicable professional institution. If you don’t belong to an institution just select ‘Other’.

  • Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time through the app store. Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period.

  • ·       Just go to the account section of the app

    ·       Select Account Details and Delete Account. This will not automatically cancel your subscription so please follow the steps set out above to cancel any future recurring payments.

  • ·       Go to the Account section of the app

    ·       Select Account Details

    ·       Select Password and you will be taken to a screen in which you can change your password.

    ·       Tip: When you reset your password, lookout for an email from ‘Wordpress’ titled Praktis Password Reset – it’s legit, that’s us! This email will contain the link to safely and securely reset your password.

  • Go to the Account section of the app and select Personal Information, here you can edit your personal information.

  • If you cancel your subscription, you will retain access to your learning diary until the end of your current billing period. After that, access will be restricted unless you re-subscribe. If you delete your account, all your data, including your learning diary, will be erased from our system and will be unrecoverable within 30 days.

  • Praktis is specifically designed for mobile use, from the way our Experts are filmed to our Flash Deck Series. Although it is optimised for mobile use it is available for tablets.

Using Praktis

  • We have created a ‘Getting Started’ video which sets out how to use Praktis, you can watch that here or in the app in Account > Help > Getting Started.

  • The app is designed with user-friendliness in mind, featuring an intuitive interface that makes navigation simple and straightforward.

  • When you log-in for the first time, you will be prompted to create your goals.

    ·       Click on the ‘create your goals’ button, then on the next screen select the hours of learning you would like to do along with your start and end date.

    ·       On the next screen you will be able to select the content you would like to focus on, just use the sliders to match what you would like to do and press ‘next’.

    ·       You will then be taken to a screen that gives you an overview of your Goals, this is your learning plan! Click ‘next’ and then ‘save goals’ on the next screen, you can press ‘back’ at any time to make any changes.

    ·       You can edit your goals at any point by going to the ‘Goals’ section of Praktis, after all it’s your learning and it’s entirely up to you!

  • On the Home section you will see a selection of collections just for you and the more you use the app the more tailored these will become.

    You can access the library by going to the ‘Explore’ section of the app where you can access content in two ways.

    ·       Scroll through the collection headings and when you see something you like, press the button and the series we have under that collection will appear.

    ·       Alternatively, there is a search function at the top of the section which you can use to search for key words such as ‘fire’, ‘design’ or ‘emissions’.

    ·       Once you’ve found a Praktis Video you would like to watch just click on it, tap the blue screen and hit the play button when you’re ready to learn.

    ·       Scroll through the collection headings and when you see something you like, press the button and the series we have under that collection will appear.

    ·       Alternatively, there is a search function at the top of the section which you can use to search for key words such as fire, project management or sustainability

    ·       Once you’ve found a series or video you would like to watch just click on it, tap the blue screen and hit the play button when you’re ready to learn.n

  • The availability of subtitles varies by the make and model of your phone.

    ·      iPhone – The iOS operating system has subtitle functionality on all models. At any time, tap the screen and in the bottom right corner of the video player you will see a little circle with three dots in the middle, tap this and you can select subtitles.

    ·      Android – Subtitle availability does vary by the make and model of the phone. If your device has the functionality for captions, usually the option to turn them on and off is found in the phone’s settings, typically under the accessibility options. If your device does have this functionality and captions are enabled, subtitles will then be available when watching any Praktis series. As these subtitles are produced automatically by the device, unfortunately we cannot guarantee they will be 100% accurate.

  • This might sound simple but trust us…check if the ‘silent’/’mute’ button on the side of your Apple iPhone is turned on to “silent’ mode. This sometimes ‘silences’ the sound on the app. Turn silent mode off and the sound should play.

    Still having problems? Give this a try:

    If you have ‘Do Not Disturb’ turned on, this sometimes ‘silences’ the sound on the app. Turn off ‘Do Not Disturb’ and the sound should play in the app.

    Try using headphones. We’re found iPhone SE Models encounter this issue with playing sound but is fixed by using headphones.

    If all else fails, contact our customer support below and we’ll troubleshoot with you!

  • Yes, all your learning activities are automatically recorded in your learning diary, making it easy to track your progress and achievements.

  • After finishing a video, you'll see a screen where you can save your progress. Here, you have the opportunity to also add your thoughts and any ethical reflections on what you've learned. While this is optional, we highly recommend capturing your reflections while they're still fresh in your mind. You can always edit these entries in your learning diary later if you prefer via the Progress section.

  • Yes! You can edit diary entries at any time to add or change Learning Reflections or Ethical Reflections. All of the other information such as description, amount of time, time completed etc is fixed. You can delete a diary entry by clicking on the red bin symbol in the top right of the screen. Be careful as deleted entries cannot be recovered.

  • You can filter your diary by date, Collection or Series. Simply click on the filter symbol to the right, select the relevant filters and tap ‘Apply’. Don’t forget to reset the filters after you’re finished.  

  • Absolutely! We’re not precious! On the Progress screen you will see a ‘external entry’ button, tap this and you will be able to add in any external learning.

  • When you’re ready to export your learning diary, you can do this at any time via the Progress screen by pressing the ‘export diary’ button. Just confirm you would like to do this when you receive the on-screen prompt and your current learning diary will be downloaded to your device.

  • When the end date for your goals has been reached, you’ll see a message at the top of the app ‘Goal end date reach. Click here to go to Goals’. Adding new goals is important - not only does it keep your learning on track but it allows you to track progress in your Progress graph. Diary entries associated with an old goal will no longer show up automatically in your learning diary but you can still search for these.

  • All diary entries associated with an old learning goal (i.e. the end date has passed) can be shown by using the filtering tool. Select the filter symbol and add a start and end date to find older diary entries.

  • The progress graph only shows progress between the goal start and end date. You need a current goal in order to be able to see progress in your Progress chart. Make sure you have an up to date goal or try adjusting the goal dates.

  • We regularly update our content library with new professional development series to ensure you have access to the latest insights and information.

Data Protection

  • We take your privacy seriously and adhere to UK data protection and GDPR laws. Your personal data is encrypted and securely stored. We do not share your data with third parties.

  • Once you delete your account, all your personal data and learning history will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

  • We only collect the necessary personal data to allow you to access the app and if you choose to do so, with your explicit consent, we can stay in touch via email to send you news, offers and updates on our content.

  • We want to create content tailored for our community; by understanding what institutions our subscribers are members of, we can make new content more relevant for you.

Payment

  • We accept Apple Pay and Google Pay via the app. Payments are securely processed through our platform.

  • Yes! You can purchase Gift Cards here

  • We offer two flexible subscription plans to fit your needs:

    • Monthly Plan - £9.99 per month

    • Annual Plan - £109.99 for twelve months

  • Not as standard although we do periodically offer discounts and trials through our mailing service. You can sign up for these offers and other news and information from Praktis via our website www.praktis-app.com

  • Yes.

    • Gift cards must be redeemed within 3 months of purchase.

    • See the instructions below to redeem the offer code via the app store.

    • Gift cards can only be redeemed on the device intended for use and cannot be transferred.

    • The subscription will auto-renew after the subscription period paid in the gift card has ended. You will be billed automatically unless you opt out of auto-renew.

  • The easiest way is to click on the ‘REDEEM GFT CARD CODE’ link in the e-gift card as this will take you automatically to your App Store. Simply install the app, set up an account and the subscription period paid for in the gift card will immediately take effect.

    Alternatively, you can redeem the offer code manually by following these steps:

    APPLE PHONES

    On your phone, open App Store, then tap on the centre icon at the bottom named 'Apps'. Scroll down. tap on 'Redeem', then tap on 'You can also redeem your code manually'. Follow the prompts from there.

    ANDROID PHONES

    On your phone, open the App Store, then tap on your account (the circle icon) in the top right hand corner of the screen. From the drop down menu select ‘Payments and Subscriptions’ from the menu, then ‘Renee Code’. Follow the prompts from there.
